Hey Keen Beans!
If you are a keen bean trip leader (TL), trip leader in training (TLIT), or a self sufficient participant looking to learn more skills you should come along to our training weekend. It will be on the 19th and 20th of September. We will be camping somewhere in the blue mountains TBD, likely in the Megalong Valley.
You will not get accepted onto this trip unless you are a TL/TLIT or are interested in becoming one (To become a TLIT please message me). So we know you have read this description, please tell us in your comment your best guess for when Mount Wilson Road will reopen.
We will be running a variety of workshops pending the availability of teachers but the plan is as follows:
Workshops:
Saturday:
- Basic rope mobility (Prussiking, basic self rescue, abseiling skills, etc)
- Basic climbing skills (Refreshing lead skills, cleaning, bolted anchors, etc)
- Basic canyoning skills (Releasables, belays, etc)
- Advanced rope mobility (hauling, anchor building, advanced self rescue, etc)
Sunday:
- Basic rope mobility (Prussiking, basic self rescue, abseiling skills, etc)
- Multipitch climbing
- Canyoning
- Advanced rope mobility (hauling, anchor building, advanced self rescue, etc)
All workshops listed as basic will be teaching from fundamentals, other workshops will assume a level of prior understanding.
This weekend may be used as an opportunity to promote TLITs to level 1 trip leaders but it will not be used to promote anyone to level 2 unless you already meet the non skill based criteria.
Please have a read through our skills document for trip leaders here.
In your comment please tell us what workshops you hope to attend and your level of experience.
