Woo its Navshield time!
A big rogaine is coming up at the end of August with an 8hr event, and a 27hr Championship event in the Belanglo State Forest. There will be some UNSWOC folk there (myself included) but it would be great to see even more!
Further, the event is a great practice/qualifier event for the beanie grant going to the 2027 World rogaining championships in South Australia. This is a grant that will help to fund your visit to this amazing event in the flinders ranges given you can demonstrate sufficient experience.

- Where & When?
Navshield 2026 will take place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August in Belanglo State Forest, approximately 2 hours south of Sydney.
Event Times:
- Two-day event: 0900hrs Saturday 29th August to 1200hrs Sunday 30th August
- One-day event: 0900hrs to 1800hrs Saturday 29th August
- How much?
Non-Emergency Service participants (Note its free if your an SES member):
- One-Day Event Entry: $100 inc GST
- Two-Day Event Entry: $150 inc GST
Entry fees cover event provisions including catering and ration packs.
- One-Day provisions: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast (catered at event base), Saturday lunch pack (sandwiches)
- Two-Day provisions: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch (catered at event base), 24hr ration pack
Instructions for payment of entry fees will be provided at registration. All payments are to be made prior to the event. Event organisers reserve the right to refuse participation for unpaid entry fees.

Amazing – how do I sign up?
The purpose of creating an UNSWOC event is to try and encourage as many UNSWOCer’s to get involved as possible! It means we can help club members find a team and perhaps even have some friendly intra-club competition 😉
If you would like to participate in the event, but do not have a team, don’t worry! Sign up to this event and I’ll organise club teams.
Once the teams have be sorted, you’ll be responsible for signing up to the official event here: https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/navshield If you already have a team, please sign up directly but also here so we know your going and for injury insurance.
