We’ll be running two SRT workshops at the Ledge on Thursday nights to give you a chance to practice caving SRT rope skills.
This trip post is for the workshop on 2nd July. Sign ups will open on the 24th June
If you’re interested in doing one of the intermediate/ advanced caves (ie Blowfly, Acoustic Pot, Drum) is essential that you are able to ascend and descending using Caving SRT techniques – that is using using mechanical ascenders, using caving descenders and passing rebelays in both directions.
If you have your own caving SRT bits / kits please bring that along. We will also have some sets of club gear at the Ledge as well.
SRT Kit:
- chest ascender (eg croll)
- hand ascender (eg jumar)
- Caving descender (eg petzl stop, raprak, bonus points for whaletails)
- Canyon / caving harness that has a D carabiner / maillon attachment point
- Chest harness
- Foot loop
- Dynamic Cowstails / safety lanyard with one long and one short end (eg petzl dual connect adjust)
