It comes the time of the year to celebrate our dedicated club members and their achievements. There is a formal dress code. We will start off with catching up, eating some free snacks and doing some epic trivia, before we kick off by Announcing the Photos Comp winners, then we will delve into Awards speeches to announce our 2026 winners and give someone life membership. After this we will hear out the beanie grant proposals. Following all this we will vote for best dressed and will play some games (undecided on what yet) to give out the remaining abundance of prizes. In your comment feel free to suggest game ideas. This is a formal event so please dress appropriately.
Attending
Meet at 6pm in the backroom of the Forest Lodge Hotel. Light food will start coming out at 6:15pm, it will be things like pizza, fries, but you can order full dinners from the bar as well. Just attending itself gives you a chance to win a prize. However only to those adequately dressed. If you pull up in sweat pants I can guarantee there will be no free prizes for you.
Juicy prizes
We will have a big prize pool of various gear thanks to our sponsors Climbing anchors, Mac Pac, Mountain equipment and Ultra light.
Trivia starts at 6:30pm. I actually have no idea what the trivia is but I know Noah’s been planning this for months so it ell be good. Expect outdoor themes. The winning trivia team will get to pick from the prize pool.
Photo Competition Winners will be announced and given a framed professionally printed version of their image as well as their pic from the prize pool. AWARDS are presented to members who have been nominated by their peers for their hard work and dedication to UNSWOC over the last 12 months. Beanie Grant is a club initiative which provides financial support to club members planning big outdoor undertakings, adventures or initiatives of their own. People will pitch their proposals and we will vote for which proposals we think deserve funding. Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)
This is also a formal notice of the EGM that will take place as part of the Awards Night program. The EGM will have a formal agenda to:
- Bestow Life Membership on a member who has rendered distinguished service to the Club
- Elect a new Gear Officer (for Term 1 and 2 of next year)
