Raff and I (Keith) will be running will be running an Beginner/Intermediate sport climbing trip to Upper Shipley, Blackheath.
This trip is for Beginners, but also those who are looking to push themselves a little further. Ideally, you should have climbed indoors doing top rope and understand how to belay safely. The aim of the day is to develop your climbing skills, at whatever level you’re at and also to have lots of fun!

โYou need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected, you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordinglyโ

- climbs are starting at 13 (like climbing a ladder) and going all the way to very hard, with most climbs from 18-21 (climbing a ladder but the rungs are missing).
What to bring / What you need โ (****) means must have!
- Harness ***
- Atc + locking carabiner (or Gri Gri and Lo. carabiner) ****
- Helmet ****
- Sling + locking carabiner (personal safety) ****
- Prusic (optional but recommended)
- Climbing shoes (COMFORTABLE)
- At least 2L of water ****
- A backpack (with lunch, snacks and personal items) ****
- Appropriate Clothing (MUST BRING A HAT, the crag can be very sunny) *****
- YOUR HAPPY FACE, AND BRAVE MINDSET!
This group gear can be organised on the day, but if you have personal gear (eg rope, quickdrawers etc..) it is highly encouraged that you use that, as gear can be scarce on the day.
Important information!
