Hi All,
On the 14-15th November, UNSWOC is planning to do an intensive 2 day Trip Leader skills and refresher course. This weekend will aim to up-skill our TL’s and TLIT’s on skills required to lead trips, including skills from basic knots to vertical rescue.
Details
Participants will be assigned a group based on their sport preference, and skill level. There will be the following workshops running:
- Canyoning Level 1
- Canyoning Level 2
- Sport Climbing Level 1
- Sport Climbing Level 2 + Additional Skills
Specifically: This weekend will only be for people who are already Level 1 or 2 TLs, or are very close to being signed off.
It will also serve as a good refresher for existing TLs
An outline of the skills in each level can be found here UNSWOC Trip Leader Skillsets
The format of each two-day workshop is up to the discretion of the TLs running the workshops, and could include clifftop workshops, at location scenarios, or workshops at the campsite. You may spend Saturday at a campsite in the Blue Mountains, or some cliffs in Berowra, etc, then test your knowledge out at a crag or in a canyon on the Sunday.
Number of participants depends on the number of TL’s available to help run the workshops.
Exact location details will be confirmed based on participant numbers.
