Hey everyone,
On Saturday 25th July, Aaron and I will be running a sport multi pitching trip at Reservoir Dogs in the Blue Mountains. The is trip is intended for people who have been outdoor sport climbing for a while and are keen to expand their rope skills to multi pitch climbing. The crag has 1 grade 15 climb, and the others are 18, 19, 20 etc, so most people will need to be comfortable leading sport around grade 19+ to get the most out of this.
This is a rap-in crag (you will abseil down a rope to get in) so ideally you have rappelled before, but let us know in the comments.
Gear you will need to bring: (some of this is available for rent from the gear cupboard – check fb and the website for details about opening time and make a reservation online )
- Harness
- Helmet
- Personal safety (eg 120cm sling and locking carabiner)
- Belay device (IMPORTANT – for a multi pitch you must be able to top belay with this. A gri gri works, or an ATC with GUIDE MODE and TWO locking carabiners)
- Prusik and locking carabiner
- 2x locking carabiners and 120cm sling for anchor building
- Climbing shoes
- Chalk (optional)
You will also need:
- backpack large enough to carry your personal gear AND some group gear like ropes and QuickDraws
- Food
- 2L water
- Warm layers and windbreaker (eg raincoat)
In the comment please tell us your climbing experience so far, whether you have rappelled or top belayed in the past and what grade you are comfortable to lead climb outdoors.
Sign ups will open on Sunday afternoon 4pm 19/7/26.
