Hola Bandolas!

Canyoning – for those who are not in the know – is one of the most enjoyable activities you can do in the Blue Mountains. Even better when you can do it while floating around on a pool toy (or Lilo).

We’ll be heading to Du Faur Canyon, a relaxed Canyon with long sections of water, perfect for floating down on a Lilo.

What to bring:

You’ll need a wetsuit – while the club has wetsuits, due to the crowd at Boree log, there is no guarantee that there will be enough to go around. So if you have one, bring it, if you don’t ask your friends!

If you are the kind of person who really feels the cold, consider bringing some thermals too, the stripier the better.

Sunscreen – your skin will be audibly crackling on the walk in and out if you forget this

Water – 3L is a good amount for a day in the wilderness. You can drink canyon water (I’ve done it and survived), but it isn’t advised, particularly for popular canyons.

Food – you don’t want to be hungry right? Lunch and some snacks. You’ll use a lot of energy paddling in cold water for a day, so make sure you bring plenty.

Plan of attack:

The Canyon is fairly close to the campground, but we will need a small car shuttle to the Mt Wilson Fire station. We’ll be aiming to leave around 8:30-9am. We should make it back well before it gets dark.

Any questions, feel free to get in touch via Facebook.

Cheers, Samuel
