Tagging along on Mac and Liam’s overnight hiking trip to the Castle, the plan is to do some harder hiking andย trail running in the area, camping at the same spot, for those who are experienced and self sufficient, aiming for one car load of people.
Saturday/Friday
- drive to Yadbora flats, either Friday night or Saturday morning depending on driver availability. If no-one has a car we can split a go-get or something.
Saturday:
- hike up with packs to Cooyoyo creek, setup camp etc
- Depending on the vegetation and time, visit some combination of monolith valley, Mt Owen, Mt Cole, Shrouded Gods Mountain. Would be nice to get some running in, maybe even do some bouldering in monolith valley.
- pack up camp
- Summit the Castle
- Head back to the car, Take a dip in the river
- drive back to Sydney
What to bring:
- food, water, sleeping gear, shelter
- shoes, preferably some trail runners
