Beginner Canyon – Zorro

Hey everyone!

Olli and I will be leading a trip to Zorro canyon this Saturday

Zorro is a dry but very pretty canyon that is super cool if you like narrow slots

Participants will need to be comfortable with abseiling, and a long walk in and out.

The following gear can be provided if you pick it up on Thursday

• Harness
• Helmet
• 3x locking carabiners
• 1x Figure 8 / Descender
• 1x Safety sling

Gear that can’t be provided that you MUST bring:

• Emergency blanket – available for purchase from the Gear Cupboard for $5 or from most outdoor stores
• Backpack that can fit ALL your gear and that you won’t mind getting wet
• Clothing:
  • Enclosed shoes with good grip (old sneakers are best!)
  • Thermals and raincoat
  • Gloves (gardening gloves are ok)
• Food:
  • 2L of water
  • Lunch
  • Snacks to share!
• Miscellaneous:
  • Medication (asthma puffer, Epipen etc)
  • A pair of thongs/flipflops to leave in the car (since your shoes will get wet)
  • Phone or camera for photos (optional, and only if you’re prepared for it to get wet if your drybag leaks!)
