Hey yโall, it seems canyoning season is upon us!
Dionย and I will be leading Bell Creek Canyon for beginners on Saturday 16th Sep (with camping Friday night).
Bell Creek is a super beautiful canyon (given a 10/10 rating on OzUltimate!), and an awesome place to start or continue your canyoning career. There are some tricky slippery scrambles and climb downs as well as a steep walk out, so general fitness/coordination is required. We will be taking lilos in the the canyon to make things a little less chilly.
YOU WILL NEED:
Helmet*
Wetsuit*
Double layers of thermals & beanie (no cotton!)
Socks (thick wool ones are best)
Headtorch
Dry bag if you have one (otherwise like 8 plastic bags for your lunch to go in)
Runners or volleys to get wet and hike in for like 10hrs
2L water bottle lunch and lots of chocolate
IN ADDITION:
Tent*
Sleeping mat*
Sleeping bag*
Dinner/breakfast and cooking implements
Warm clothes. Like real warm. Like I’m be wearing a wool sweater and two puffer jackets when camping.
* = can borrow from UNSWOC on gear night
Keen to see you there!
