FULL – Beginner Sport Climbing Trip to Dural – Sunday June 7

Hey Everyone!

On Sunday June 8th, Hammy and I (Amelia V) will be leading a beginner friendly sport climbing trip to Dural (weather permitting!). There are a range of grades and styles and this will be an especially great opportunity for new members to try out some climbing. We will be setting up top ropes for most the climbs so no prior climbing experience is required, only a keen attitude!

Please read all the information quite carefully as you will need to fill out the comment box with answers to the required questions or you will be rejected.

The trip leaders will review all trip sign ups and you’ll receive an automated email if you get accepted or rejected for the trip. If you’ve been accepted, check Messenger as we will make a group chat with all the participants. If you’re having issues signing up, check that you’re logged in and have a paid membership. In terms of transport, we will organise carpooling in the group chat. This will be an all day adventure, so that means we will depart early in the morning, and will finish up in the afternoon before it gets too cold or dark.

Things to bring:

• Harness*
• Helmet*
• ATC with a carabiner*
• Safety sling*
• Climbing shoes*
• Lunch, snacks
• At least 2L Water
• Hat, sunscreen
• Warm clothes (it’s chilly days!)
• Medications if you need them (asthma puffer etc.)
• Any sport climbing gear you may own
• Good vibes!

* Gear can be borrowed from the gear cupboard, usually Thursday evening. Please check UNSWOC Facebook page for latest gear shed details.

• If you have a car, let us how many car spots you have (including the driver) and where you’ll be driving from
