Hi All! Me (Margot) and assorted wives (Angela, Zara and Emily) will be running a womxn trip next Sunday! The plan is to go to Box Creek in Kanangra and practice rigging as this canyon has heaps of abseils, and we’ll have a high trip leader to participant ratio. Its also very open and sunny so hopefully we can stay warm. Ideally, you have been on a few canyons before and are keen to upskill to become a trip leader/self sufficient for canyoning. Kanangra is another bit farther beyond the blue mountains so consider making a weekend of it with some other climbing and canyoning in the mountains on Saturday (after you vote 
) Here are some notes on the canyon: Box Creek Canyon – ropewiki It is a shorter canyon, but we’ll be practicing rigging skills so expect 8h+
You will need:
o To be keen to learn to rig and upskill
o Ready for a colder day! Its cold up here these days!
o A headtorch
o A dry bag*
o A backpack to fit all your gear + rope and can get wet. Preferably borrow a canyon bag from the club if you don’t have one*
o Wetsuit (preferably 5mm its going to be colddd)*
o Rain jacket
o Thermals
o Wool socks
o Shoes with grip
o Helmet*
o Harness*
o Descender (preferably an 8 style)*
o Personal safety*
o Locking Carabiner*
o An emergency blanket (can be bought from the gear cupboard – $5)
o Food and water
o Any rigging or other gear you have and want to practice with
o To be not a man (sorry men)
