[FULL] SUNDAY BL – DAM CLIFFS EXTRAVAGANZA

If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly”

Nick Tang and I (Jayden) will be leading a swimming/ deep water solo/ beginner climbing trip to Dam Cliffs. This is a paradise for chill climbing, deep water solo, swimming, cliff jumping, and very easy (grade 10) to very hard (grade 28) sport climbing routes.

Our group may also do a little run through of Dargans creek canyon. This is a no abseil, fairly short canyon/ creek scramble, but does require wetsuits!

The plan is to drive from the campground where we are camping on Saturday night (Cathedral Reserve at Mount Wilson) to the crag, where we will set up top ropes, spend some time swimming and depending on group vibes we may run through the canyon! No climbing experience is needed. It will just generally be a splendid day out. Get keen beans!

You will need:

• Climbing gear: A harness*, a helmet* and locking carabiner* attached to an ATC* . Optional but recommended chalk bag and climbing shoes.
• For clothing: Sport clothes. It can get quite hot or quite chilly, so be prepared for both. Wetsuit* (if we choose to run through the canyon)
• For eating: 2L of water, food or snacks, chocolate for the trip leaders please.
• Other gear: swimmers, sunscreen, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer, etc).
