Hey pepitos!
Maddi and I will be leading a beginner friendly sport climbing trip to Corroboree. You can check out the crag page –> https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/corroboree-walls/area/157747266 to see if anything catches your fancy. All experience levels are welcome; whether you are looking to climb outdoors for the first time or possibly want to learn to lead climb or belay.
It will be an all day event and we will arrange carpooling from the campsite at Cathedral of Ferns in the morning.
What to bring:
- 2L water
- Food/snacks for the day
- Sunscreen/hat
- Warm layers in case it is windy/cold
- Comfortable clothes to climb in
- Harness*
- Helmet*
- Belay device (eg ATC)*
- Locking carabiner*
- Climbing shoes*
- Chalk (optional)
- Bag to fit everything listed above and some of the shared gear we will bring
*Items marked with an asterix can be borrowed from the club and will be provided on the day for those who need to borrow gear. Please bring your own gear if you have it*
**Please Note: You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly**
So, if you are keen to touch rocks, please tell us your climbing experience so far, your favourite mode of transportation (just so we know you’ve read all this information) and whether you have a car in your comment below… and get in early before signups are full.
If you have any questions feel free to send Maddi or myself a message.
Saludos,
Emily and Maddi
