If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly”
Crispy and I (Steve) will be leading a beginner climbing trip to Dam Cliffs. Dam Cliffs is the paradise for chill climbing, deep water solo, swimming, cliff jumping, and very easy (grade 10) to very hard (grade 28) sport climbing routes (find all the details here: https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/the-dams-cliffs).
The plan is to drive from the campground where we are camping on Saturday night (Cathedral Reserve at Mount Wilson) to the crag, where we will set up top ropes for everyone to climb. No climbing experience is needed. If you´re a competent lead climber and lead belayer, you´re also welcomed. It will be an awesome day out and you will need:
- Climbing gear: A harness*, a helmet* and locking carabiner* attached to an ATC* (* = club will provide it). Optional but recommended chalk bag and climbing shoes.
- For clothing: Sport clothes. It can get quite hot or quite chilly, so be prepared for both.
- For eating: 2L of water, food or snacks, chocolate for the trip leaders please.
- Other gear: swimmers, sunscreen, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer, etc)
