[FULL] SATURDAY BL – SHIPLEY UPPER Sport Climbing

Hey everyone,

Come join the Amelias (Amelia V and Amelia K) on a beginner friendly sport climbing trip to Upper Shipley – you can check out the Crag page here to see the climbs on offer!

We will happily teach any skills you are looking to learn, whether this is your first time climbing outdoors or you want to learn some specific skills such as lead climbing or belaying. We will happily set up routes for anyone new to the sport and looking to top rope some climbs as well.

What you need to bring:

• 2L water
• Food/snacks for the day
• Sunscreen/hat
• Warm clothes!
• Chalk (optional)
• Bag to fit everything, including some of the shared gear we will bring

Bring the following items if you have them, if not we can provide…

• Harness
• Helmet
• Belay device (eg ATC)
• Locking carabiner
• Climbing shoes

You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly.

If you’re keen to sign up, please include in your comment your climbing experience so far, whether you have a car and how many seats, and name an animal you would be most excited to see while climbing (just so we know you’ve read all this info before signing up).
