[FULL] SATURDAY BL – Serendipity Canyon

Make sure you read the entire description, and bring all the required gear

Elliot, Max and I (Zara), will be running a trip to Serendipity canyon for Boree Log! Serendipity is a short and sweet canyon with multiple abseils. Participants will need to be comfortable with abseiling, cold swims, and a reasonable walk in and out.

• Canyoning gear provided at Boree Log event (If you have personal gear it is helpful to bring this along):
  • Harness*
  • Helmet*
  • 3x locking carabiner*
  • 1x Figure 8*
  • 1x 120cm safety sling*
  • Drybag*
  • Wetsuit*
• Canyoning gear not provided:
  • Emergency blanket (You must carry one on every club canyoning trip. You must buy one from the gear cupboard for $5 cash or most outdoor stores)
  • Backpack that can fit ALL your gear in (30L – 40L), that can get wet, and can be treated rough.

• Clothing:
  • Enclosed shoes with good grip
  • Wool socks
  • Boardshorts to wear on top of wetsuit (compulsory to protect the club wetsuits)
  • Thermals to wear under your wetsuit (optional, but helpful)
  • NO COTTON!
• Food:
  • 1.5L of water in bottles.
  • Substantial lunch (pack it in a waterproof container, and make sure it’s vaguely crush-proof)
  • Snacks (chocolate or something nice to share!)
• Miscellaneous:
  • Any personal medicine (asthma puffer, Epipen etc)
  • A pair of thongs/flipflops to leave in the car (since your shoes will get wet)
  • Phone or camera for photos (optional, and only if you’re prepared for it to get wet if your drybag leaks! Bring a ziploc bag or two to protect it)

You must be approved to the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. If you get rejected then you can sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly.
