NOTE: Registration for all Boree Log day trips will open on Tuesday at 6 pm. You must already be accepted onto the main Boree Log event in order to attend.
Cam and I will be running a beginner friendly trip to Thompsons Point on Sunday. With an easy access and views of the Shoalhaven River, Thompsons is a great place to spend the day if you’re new to climbing or are feeling especially smashed after Saturday night.
If it rains too hard, the plan is to go to Utopia crag instead, which is sheltered in wet weather.
We will be setting up topropes on a few easier grades so no climbing experience is required. If you have never lead a sport climb before and are keen to learn, feel free to tell us and we can show you the ropes on Sunday!
You will need to bring:
Climbing gear:
- Harness*
- Climbing Shoes*
- Chalk Bag (optional but recommended)
- Helmet*
- Carabiner+ATC*
Other:
- At least 2L of water (use your own judgement on this)
- Food and snacks for the day
- Sunscreen
- Personal medicines (epipen, etc)
- Comfortable clothes to climb in
(*) – Can be borrowed from the club in the morning, please borrow climbing shoes from the gear cupboard before boree log.
