Brendon and I (Scott) will be running a trip canyoning trip down Yileen Canyon this weekend. Yileen Canyon is one of the better canyons on the south side of Bells Line of Road. It features several sections of canyon, finishing with an abseil of up to 60m into the Grose Valley. The name comes from an aboriginal word for dream.
This trip is open to a range of abilities. The more canyoning experience you have, the more likely you are to get accepted.
We will be meeting at UNSW (gear cupboard) at 7 am Sunday morning and carpooling up to the Mt Wilson (will only be taking two cars). From there we will do a quick car shuttle, before beginning a short 2km walk to the start of the Yileen Canyon. Depend on group size it should take about 7 hours in total to complete with a very competent goal to get out before dark. Proceeding to drive back to Sydney afterwards.
