PUBGAINE! … and start of session BBQ.

Hello Everyone

This years PUBGAINE! is going to be at the start of second semester and will be combined start of session BBQ.

For all of you who don;t know what I’m talking about, a PUBGAINE! is a portmanteau of ‘pub-crawl’ and ‘rogaine’. In the former, large amounts of alcohol are consumed. In the latter teams of 3-5 race around to collect check points with the aid of map and compass. Combining these activities make for a ludicrously good time.

The start of session BBQ will begin at around 4pm, so come along at any time and get some food. We will have the usual formalities before everyone breaks off into teams, is given a map end runs off into the night. We will then rondezvous at the finish line where points will be tallied and prizes will be awarded.

The PUBGAINE! itself will begin at  6p.m. so don’t worry if you are late from work.

The rules are simple. Each team is given a map with a list of pub marked on it. Each pub is worth a designated number of point based roughly on the difficultly of reaching it. You are allowed to move by foot, or on public transport, but no cars, taxi’s or bicycles. Bonus points will be awarded on the following basis:

1. Each team member carrying a compass, worn around their neck (+10 points)

2. Each team member wearing a head torch, you may turn it off when entering a pub (+10 points)

3. Each team member dressed in thermals and shorts (bottoms mandatory and tops encouraged) (+50 points) (-50 points for cotton leggings)

4. Each team member drinks an alcoholic beverage at a pub – proven with a receipt (double points for that pub)

The entry fee will be $5. The BBQ beforehand will be free!

First place – $200 ME voucher

Second Place – $150 Me Voucher

Third Place – $100 ME Voucher
