To attend any trip, you must have an active UNSW Outdoors Club membership and sign up for the trip on this website. UNSWOC trips are usually have no attendance fee and take place on either Saturday or Sunday of the weekend indicated in the schedule. Typically the trip will be posted to the Calendar (below the schedule) in the week of the trip, at which point you can sign up for the trip. Technical gear for club trips (such as harnesses, helmets, wetsuit, etc.) can be borrowed from the UNSWOC Gear Cupboard with only a deposit. When attending a trip, please plan to chip in for petrol for your lovely driver 😊.

Our trips are often in high demand, so here are some tips to give you the best chance of snagging yourself a spot!

  • Come climbing at the Ledge. This lets trip leaders get to know you and shows that you're keen to learn and get involved with the Club.
  • Sign up promptly. You can turn on email notifications to receive an email whenever a new trip is posted. Please note however that participants are not exclusively chosen in order of signing up.
  • Read the whole trip description, and if it asks any questions, make sure you answer all of them in the booking comments box. Tell the trip leaders why you're keen!
  • Make sure your membership profile includes your facebook profile link and/ or phone number so the leader can get in contact with you.
  • If you're unsure about anything in the trip description, message the trip leaders or add your questions to the comments.
  • Our club trips are run entirely by volunteers, so be nice to them. If you come in with a good safety attitude, are respectful to everyone in the Club and especially if you bring snacks to share, you'll certainly be first on the list to be accepted on future Club trips.

Schedule

Below is the schedule of planned trips this term. Keep in mind that all trips are weather dependant, the schedule is like life, things change. There are also likely to be impromptu trips posted, so keep your eyes peeled!

You can find trip sign links once they're posted in the Calendar below!
