You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign
up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just
makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders.

On the SUNDAY of Boree Log myself (Jenny) and Mira will be leading a climbing trip to Mt. Boyce. We plan to mainly set up trad climbing routes For anyone new to outdoor climbing, trad climbing involves placing your own gear in the rock for protection, so there are no permanent fixed bolts in the rock.

No climbing experience is required as we’ll set up the climbs for you to second or top rope. We are happy to teach you the fundamentals of trad climbing. We will bring along trad racks, ropes and other club gear but bring your own if you have any.

We will meet up at 8:00am on Sunday morning at the Boree Log campground near the trailer. Any gear that you require will be collected together on Sunday morning from the trailer.

  • Gear: harness, helmet, climbing shoes, ATC + carabiner (if you have your own make sure you bring it!!!), climbing tape or crack gloves to protect your hands (not essential).
  • What to bring: sunscreen, 2L water (minimum!), food for the day, sporty clothes, a warm jacket, a day backpack to fit all your stuff inside, comfortable shoes to hike in, snacks to share, etc.
  • Meeting point: 8:00am at Boree Log Trailer (Cathedral of Ferns Campground, Mt Wilson).

In the comments box, please tell us about your previous climbing experience, whether you will be driving your own car to Boree Log and your favourite type of weather to be considered for this trip 🙂

Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable and trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly.

Looking forward to it!!
