Canyon TBA (Depending on weather and group experience)
Nadav will run a canyon/chasm with a series of technical abseils, beautiful scenery!
What you need to know? Expect a great day canyoning for around 8+ hrs round trip, a walk up the river at the end, and an easy roped climb to exit (or scramble depending on canyon).
Essential gear:
- Space blanket/emergency blanket (mandatory!).
- Headlamp (mandatory) w/ batteries
- Lunch/snacks and water (1.5L) for 8 hrs of potential canyoning. Fueling yourselves is essential
- Spare dry clothes/thermals/jumper/beanie
- Dry bag to keep electronics/spare clothes warm.
- Rain Coat. Provides wind protection and is crucial
- Appropriate clothing – no cotton – when wet it loses heat fast! Think hiking clothes with boardies/swim shorts to protect wetsuit from damage.
- Shoes with good grip and suitable for water – trainers with warm socks.
- Wet-suit (BYO if you have one, else borrow from Boree Log Gear Pool)
- Wet-suit booties/gloves (It will be cold in Autumn). Woollen socks are an ok but nowhere near as good backup
- Helmet (BYO if you have one, else borrow from Boree Log Gear Pool)
- Harness (BYO if you have one, else borrow from Boree Log Gear Pool)
- Descender/ Figure 8 and Karabiner (BYO if you have one, else borrow from Boree Log Gear Pool)
- Safety Sling and Karabiner (BYO if you have one, else borrow from Boree Log Gear Pool)
- +30L backpack to keep your drybag/gear. Expect it to get wet/scratched.
- Any medication/medical devices you need.
You must also be Approved for the main Boree Log Event.
Please comment any experience/hype/questions you have in the comment box below (Make sure to say something! I need to know your experience to be able to choose an appropriate canyon). Also comment your car and the number of seats available.
