Start is at UNSW Gear Cupboard (Sam Cracknell Pavilion) @ 6:30pm. Rego by 6:20pm.

A PUBGAINE! is a portmanteau of ‘Pub-crawl’ and ‘Rogaine’. In the former, good times are had. In the latter teams of 3-5 race around to collect Control Points with the aid of map and compass. Combining these activities makes for a ludicrously good time!

The rules are simple. You must be 18+ and carry ID to participate. Each team is given a map with a list of pubs marked on it. Each pub is worth a designated number of point based roughly on the difficultly of reaching it. You are allowed to move by foot, or on public transport, but no cars, taxi’s or bicycles. Team must remain together at all times, splitting up to get to more pubs is a no-no.

BONUS POINTS:

  • 60 points – for each team member wearing a helmet.
  • 50 points – for each team with a new member who joined the club less than 6 months ago. 50 points for the first member and 30 points for each additional person.
  • 40 points – for each team member wearing thermal leggings and shorts on top.
  • 30 points – for each team member wearing a harness.
  • 20 points – for each team member carrying a compass around their neck.
  • 10 points – for each team member wearing a head torch.
  • 10 points – for each team member who can present a space blanket at the finish line (used or unused).
  • Double points for each pub where every team member drinks a beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Receipts must be provided digitally.

For the double points we are going digital this time. There will be a link and QR code on the answer sheet please use that to submit all you receipts so make sure your phone is charged!

The PUBGAINE! itself will begin at 6:30p.m. There will be warm-up social time, food, and registration from 5pm, so come along at any time and get some food when you register. Rego will close at 6:20 before a mass start at 6:30. Maps will be handed out as you register your team. All teams must be back at the Hash House – Victoria park Broadway – no later than 9:30, and a 10 point penalty per minute late will given. If you cannot make it in time after work/uni, you may join a team out on the course if you get them to register on your behalf.

You are responsible for your actions at all times. UNSWOC is not liable for any damage or injury sustained during the event. While having a good time is encouraged, getting overly sloshed and becoming a nuisance is not. If however you do come across any troubles, please contact myself or Oliver. Lets all have a good night!
