POSTPONED – Beginner Climbing this Sunday – Bangor West

Hi UNSWOC members!

Cindy Li and I will be running a climbing trip to Bangor West this Sunday (27/06/2021). If you are keen to get into outdoor climbing or want to practise some sport climbing please message me on Facebook about:

• Your climbing experience
• Anything you want to learn in particular
• If you have a car
• Which area you live in (to sort out transport)

Gear Required:

• Harness*
• Climbing Shoes*
• Helmet*
• Belay device and locking carabiner*
• Safety sling and locking carabiner * (if you want to learn to clean)
• Chalk Bag (optional but recommended)

* – Can be borrowed from the gear shed at UNSW, hire is free for club trips but remember to bring cash for a deposit! Check Facebook posts!

Other:

• At least 2L of water
• Food and snacks for the day
• Sunscreen
• Personal medicines (epipen, antihistamines, etc.)
• Enclosed comfortable shoes for the approach + a warm jacket
• A head torch (just in case)
• Some petrol money for your driver.
