Had an amazing time doing a 3-night hike in the Bu Had an amazing time doing a 3-night hike in the Budawangs 🏕️, visiting some beauties such as the Castle 🏰, Corang Arch and Monolith Valley 🛕.

We got quite wet a couple of times and didn’t exactly make it back to camp before dark on the 3rd day 🌃... But the gorgeous views more than made up for it (Also the drinks stashed at camp helped ease the pain) 😁

To make things more exciting, we chose some interesting (and apparently not so well travelled) routes, which consisted of significantly more bush-bashing 🌳 and rock scrambling 🧗🏼‍♀️ than an actual trail.

Plenty of detours were also taken to satisfy our bouldering cravings and climb every rock in Monolith Valley (wonder why we didn’t make it to camp before dark?!?)

Climbing the Castle was probably the highlight of the trip. We had to use ropes to get up and down, and were greeted with breathtaking views once we summited. 🌄 K2 next!

How much #biodiversity actually occurs on campus? Which native species do we walk past every day without really noticing?

Help us explore and record biodiversity across campus!

Join us in taking photos of all of the wonderful living things on campus and upload them to our #iNaturalist project (QR Code) during the 24hr BioBlitz challenge. Whether you’re into birding or love looking for the smallest critters, every observation counts! 🐛🦜🌸

Come and find our #BioBlitz naturalists in front of the Bioscience Building on the day (between 12:30-3pm) for free snacks 😋, identification help and to learn more about the organisms you can find on campus. For more information please contact natalie.allen@unsw.edu.au

🌄 NEWNES CLUB MEETUP 🌄 Hey everyone! We’re launc 🌄 NEWNES CLUB MEETUP 🌄

Hey everyone!

We’re launching something new... welcome to our very first Boree Branch — a mini Boree Log and the perfect excuse to get out to Newnes for an epic weekend of camping, hiking, climbing, canyoning, and good times with great people.

This is a **social meetup**, not a traditional club trip — so bring your crew, meet new legends, and spend the weekend exploring some incredible spots.

✨ What to expect
• Group camping at Newnes
• Special escort-only access into the Wolgan Valley

⚠️ Important - there are **NO OFFICIAL TRIPS RUNNING** and no trip leaders.

You must be:
✅ Self-sufficient in your chosen activities
OR
✅ Know someone experienced who can take you

Spots are limited and this is a rare opportunity to visit Newnes together, so don’t miss it :)

Sign up on the website as usual.
