Hi all,
I will be running a General Ropework Workshop on the (Thursday) 17th of October, starting at 5pm at THE LEDGE.
The workshop is open to anyone who’d like to improve their learning/ knowledge of ropes and is the first step to the trip leader pathway in the respective canyoning/caving/climbing specializations.
Learning items will consist of items within this booklet (General-Rope-Sports-Manual-V2.pdf (unswoc.org))
● General knots such as figure eights, hitches, stoppers, alpine butterfly, etc
● Rope management/ coiling and storage of ropes. I’ll be bringing in a 200m long set of ropes to play around with, and to demonstrate the importance of proper rope management.
● Equipment care, visual and tactile assessment/ inspection of PPE
● Outdoors safety, communication techniques, general risk assessment and what to be aware on during trips.
