DESCRIPTION:Hi all\,\n\nI will be running a General Ropework Workshop on th
 e (Thursday) 17th of October\, starting at 5pm at THE LEDGE.\n\nThe worksh
 op is open to anyone who'd like to improve their learning/ knowledge of ro
 pes and is the first step to the trip leader pathway in the respective can
 yoning/caving/climbing specializations.\n\nLearning items will consist of 
 items within this booklet (General-Rope-Sports-Manual-V2.pdf (unswoc.org))
 \n\n● General knots such as figure eights\, hitches\, stoppers\, alpine 
 butterfly\, etc\n● Rope management/ coiling and storage of ropes. I'll b
 e bringing in a 200m long set of ropes to play around with\, and to demons
 trate the importance of proper rope management.\n● Equipment care\, visu
 al and tactile assessment/ inspection of PPE\n● Outdoors safety\, commun
 ication techniques\, general risk assessment and what to be aware on durin
 g trips.\n\nExamples of rope management below (spot the good and bad!)\n\n
