Hi there!

Depending on water levels, Aidan will be running a beginner friendly whitewater kayaking trip up to the Barrington river to give a few lucky people a taste of whitewater and an opportunity to progress from the pool sessions. The Barrington has some lovely class I, II and III sections providing a bit of fun for everyone. It is the perfect opportunity to start to learn how to ferry glide, eddy in and out and learn to use those edges! Our USYD counterparts (SUCC) will also be running a beginner friendly trip up there that weekend, so it will be a good opportunity to meet a bunch of other whitewater kayakers too!

Because whitewater can be dangerous, more supervision is required than for other trips, as a result Aidan will only be able to take 3 people. You will only be accepted if you have been to a pool session. Please let us know if you have a car with roof racks or are happy to use soft racks on your car. Please comment how many pool sessions that you have been to, the state of your roll, and any flatwater or whitewater experience you may have.

We will be camping at the Barrington, so you will need to either be self sufficient with camping stuff or rent out gear from the gear cupboard before the trip.

*You will need to be a competent swimmer to attend this trip*
