The above can be borrowed from the club. Make sure your sleeping bag is warm enough for the weather. A sleeping mat is different to a yoga mat as it has better padding and insulation. Maybe a small inflatable pillow? Sleeping bag liners can help boost the warmth of your main bag.

  • Warm jumper/fleece/sweater etc
  • Swimmers?
  • Towel
  • Several changes of clothes
  • Costume!

Food & Water

Bring enough water and food for the entire weekend
There will be NO REFRIGERATION at the camp. Bring foods which will not go off if they are kept in the heat. Suggested foods include:

  • Breakfast: Muesli, cereal, long life milk, soy milk, fruit, bread, crackers, caffeine.
  • Lunch: Muesli bars, bread, canned tuna, crackers, fruit, chocolate, nuts, lollies, biscuits, tomatoes, cucumbers etc.
  • Dinner: Freeze dried pasta, rice, soup, bread, couscous, canned chilli
  • Dessert: Marshmellows!

Cooking stuff: Something to heat your food with if you need it. Lightweight hiking stoves are best powered by butane/propane canisters. Matches/lighter, cleaning things (a chux wipe and a drop of Wilderness Wash).

Plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon to actually eat with.

Misc gear

  • Headlamp
  • Water bottle or hydration pack for the activities
  • First aid kit (not essential, but bring one if you have it)
  • Day pack to carry your junk on trips
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap etc
  • Sunscreen
  • Medical stuff: Any personal medications with any attached action plans, and an emergency blanket

Note: This list does not include items for specific sports, eg Harness, Wetsuit, etc. which you should bring if you have them.
