Hello hello,
Jenny jenny and I will be running a beginner-friendly sport climbing trip on Saturday (12 Nov). Crag will be dependent on sign-ups and weather, but we are hoping to go to the beautiful Blue Mountains (Ngurra Country).
This is a dedicated event to make space for gender diverse folk and all women, cis and trans inclusive to feel supported and welcomed to climb and explore and connect with other like-minded people.
We are happy to set up top ropes so no prior experience is needed; and we would be more than happy to support you on tougher climbs too.
You will need:
- Personal climbing gear: A harness, helmet, locking carabiner, belay device/ATC, climbing shoes
- all are available at the gear shed with a deposit, no rental fee, check the UNSWOC Facebook page for gear shed details
- if you have your own gear please bring it
- For clothing: Wear clothes you are comfortable climbing in (i.e. sporty) as well as extra layers (i.e. jumpers, coats, gloves, hats)!
- For sustenance: 2 L of water, lunch, and snacks
- Other gear: Head torch, sunscreen, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer, etc), backpack to carry everything in, comfortable sneakers / hiking boots to walk down to the crag
Leave a comment to let us know your experience, where you will be driving from if you have a car, what is your Facebook name (so we can add you to a chat) and what is your favourite knot.
