Hi all,

Ewa and I will be running an intermediate canyon ,Whungee Wheengee (http://ozultimate.com/canyoning/track_notes/whungee_wheengee.htm) on Saturday for Boree Log. This is a great canyon with some swims, abseiling, scrambling, squeezes and lots of dark sections! 🙂

This canyon is suitable for someone who has experience in abseiling, has general fitness and has done a few canyons before. It will be a long (~8-9 hours) day but definitely worth it! If you would like to join this trip, please leave a comment with your experience or message either Ewa or I on facebook!

(Taken from http://ozultimate.com/canyoning/reports/2014/20141108_whungee_wheengee/photos.htm)

You will need:

  • Wetsuit*
  • Headtorch
  • Shorts to go on top of the wetsuit (these protect the wetsuit from being damaged)
  • Sunscreen
  • Harness*
  • Belay device +locking biner*
  • Safety sling*
  • Water (at least 2-3L)
  • Snacks (for trip leaders)
  • Lunch
  • Closed shoes (that can get wet)
  • Wool socks (especially if you get cold)
  • Thermals to wear under your wetsuit if you get cold (this is a cold canyon!)
  • Dry bag (to keep your things dry)

*Can be hired on the day from the club for free. Best to try and bring your own if you have them though!

Look forward to seeing you guys there, and please message if you are interested/wanting to join (You won’t get a spot unless you message with experience first). You must be attending the main boree log event to attend this trip!
