Hey folks,
Sarah and I are running a trad trip this Saturday to Mt Piddington! You can find more info about the crag here: https: //www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/mount-piddington.
You technically don’t need any climbing experience to join, but you’ll get more out of the trip if you have some climbing experience (like lead climbing and lead belaying) so you can learn more trad-specific skills. We’ll be setting up top ropes on routes for people to climb and letting people practice/learn placing trad gear, and we’ll be happy to teach other climbing skills as well.
You’ll need to bring:
- Harness *
- Helmet *
- Climbing shoes *
- ATC + Locking carabiner *
- At least 2L water
- Lunch + snacks
- Warm layers!! The mountains will be about 10 degrees colder than Sydney!
- Sunscreen
- A suitable backpack and shoes for hiking in and out
* These can be borrowed from the gear cupboard, which is opening tomorrow (Thursday) from 5 – 6pm.
If you want to come along, sign up and leave a comment letting us know about your climbing experience, whether you’ve got a car (and how many total seats) and any skills you want to learn on the trip. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to message Sarah or I.
See you there!
