Trad Climbing/Learn to Trad (Intermediate Trip)

Hey All

Abi, Jenny and I will be running a Learn to Trad trip to the Blue Mountains this Sunday. Location TBA, likely Mt Piddington but will be weather dependent. We will be leaving Sydney early and returning late.

This trip is suitable for intermediate climbers who can lead climb and belay on sport, abseil etc. You will have the opportunity to learn to and practice placing gear, second lead climbers/mock lead and start leading if you’re comfortable. Priority will be given to those who have expressed previous interest and engaged in self-learning for trad.

What you will need:

• Rock climbing shoes**
• Helmet**
• Harness**
• Belay device and locking biner**
• Prusik**
• Food and water for the day. At least 1.5L of water
• Walking shoes
• Backpack for all the above

** These can be borrowed from the club if you don’t have your own.
