Heya folks!
Sarah and I (Pat) will be leading a trad climbing trip this Sunday to Mt Piddington, one of the most lovely trad crags in the blueys. You can find more info on thecrag here.
No prior climbing experience is necessary, as we’ll be setting up climbs for you to toprope or second, but it helps if you’ve had some practice lead climbing and lead belaying. We’ll be happy to teach fundamental trad climbing skills, like crack climbing and gear placements, as well as pretty much any other relevant climbing skills.
You’ll need this gear for the trip:
- Harness*
- Helmet*
- ATC + carabiner*
- Climbing shoes*
- Minimum 2L water
- Lunch + snacks
- Sunscreen
- Shoes that you can hike to the crag in
- Climbing chalk, crack gloves (if you have)
*This gear can be borrowed from the gear cupboard on Thursday.
In the comments, let us know about your climbing experience, what gear you would need to borrow, how many spare seats you have if you’ve got a car, and your favourite snack.
If you’ve any questions, feel free to message Sarah or I on Facebook. See you there!
