Oscar and I (Hamza) will be running beginner-friendly sport climbing at Sunbath Crag near Medlow Bath

Sunbath is a great spot to get comfortable climbing outdoors, with a nice mix of routes and a chill setup for the day. Thereโll be climbs for beginners and for those keen to push themselves a bit, ranging from grades 10 up to 20+. Whether you’re looking to get your first outdoor climbs in or just spend a relaxed day on the wall, this should be a good time with plenty of routes to go around.
[You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly]
The plan for the day is to meet up at the campground by 9.30 am, drive over together and spend the day climbing with the aim to be back at the cars at ~5:00 pm. As this is a beginner trip, we will teach you the basics of outdoor sport climbing, such as tying in and top-rope belaying. We are also happy to teach some lead climbing skills as well, and get you guys practicing. Hidden question: Give me a short paragraph explaining your best conspiracy theory?
Things to bring:
- Water (minimum 2L)
- Food (lunch and snacks)
- Climbing shoes * + chalk (optional but helpful)
- Harness *
- Helmet *
- Belay device (atc or gri gri) *
- Locking carabiner *
- Backpack to carry your gear
- Walking shoes for approach
* Bring your own if you have, otherwise club will provide it
