Stephen and I (Sammy) will be leading a beginner climbing trip to Dam cliffs. It features some chill rope climbing at easy to intermediate grades. It also has a swimming hole where you can attempt some deep water solo (see photo) or cliff jumping. Or…you can just chill out in the water and have a swim.

You must be approved for Boree Log to attend.

The plan is to drive from the Boree Log campground to the crag on Sunday, where we will set up top ropes for everyone to climb. No climbing experience is needed. If you´re a competent lead climber and lead belayer, you´re also welcomed. It will be an awesome day out and you will need:

  • Climbing gear: A harness*, helmet*, locking carabiner*, belay device/ATC*, climbing shoes, chalk bag.
    • * = club can provide
    • if you have your own gear please bring it
  • For clothing: Wear clothes you are comfortable climbing in (i.e. sporty) as well as extra layers and raincoat incase it is cold or rains. Also, bring your swimmers and a towel if you are easily entised by water.
  • For sustenance: 2 L of water, lunch, and snacks.
  • Other gear: sunscreen, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer, etc).

Leave a comment to let us know your experience and tell us your favourite type of … water.

Please mention if you have a car. We will make sure everyone has a SPOT IN A CAR TO GET BACK TO SYDNEY.

You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders.

Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly
