Sunday Boree Log – Beginner Hiking Trip, route TBD
Nat and I (Oliver) will be running a beginners hike on the sunday of Boree Log for anyone keen and probably some who enjoy Saturday night a lot =).
We will be walking to the Glow worm tunnel that was once a rail tunnel and is now part of a beautiful little rainforest like area.
There are a number of route options depending on what we want to do and how we are feeling. I have mapped out a middleish one with 16 kms here:

I believe the whole walk is on pretty decent ground expect through the tunnel itself where ankles can be an issue due to not being able to see where your putting your feet 🙂
This is a rough packing list but this is a fairly simple walk/hike so im sure you can figure it out yourselves. We will eat lunch out on the trail somewhere so bring something suitable. Its not expected to rain but when was the last time the forecast was right?
- For clothing: Comfortable hiking shoes and sport clothes. It can get quite hot (hat), quite chilly (fleece) or quite wet (raincoat), so be prepared!
- For eating: 2-3 l of water, food and snacks. Don’t underestimate the amount of water, there is likely no refill!
- Other gear: a torch might be handy in the tunnel, sunscreen, medicines if you need them (asthma puffer, etc), a phone full of battery, a backpack to fit everything.
If you have any questions message Oliver Nicholls (me) on facebook.
Write down YOUR EXPERIENCE in the comments and whether you have A CAR. We will make sure everyone has a SPOT IN A CAR TO GET BACK TO SYDNEY. See you there!
