On Sunday Elliot and I(Cam) will be running a Sport climbing trip at Mount York. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, get some climbing in, and learn a bit about lead climbing. Include your experience in the comments and we’ll see which crag we end up at on the day.
The plan: Early morning carpool from Sydney (those with a car will be given preference) , spend an awesome day climbing, drive back to Sydney in the evening / night. We’ll aim to meet at the carpark by 9:30AM
You will need to bring:
Climbing gear:
- Harness*
- Climbing Shoes*
- Helmet*
- Belay device and locking carabiner*
- Chalk Bag (optional but recommended)
(*) – Can be borrowed from the gear shed at UNSW 4-5pm Thursday, hire is free for club trips but remember to bring cash for a deposit!
Other:
- At least 2L of water
- Food and snacks for the day
- Sunscreen
- Personal medicines (epipen, antihistamines, etc.)
- Enclosed comfortable shoes for the approach + a warm jacket (gets very chilly up there…)
- A head torch (just incase we are too psyched to leave before dark…)
