SATURDAY BL – VICTORIA FALLS Hike/Swim

Please note: You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly

Keen for a chill Saturday trip? Keen to go swimming? Keen to see not one, but two beautiful waterfalls? Then this is the trip for you!

Hammy and I (Callum) will be running this beginner hike to Victoria Falls. The hike down to the falls is just a short 2km, and we’ll have the opportunity to take short side trails to see Silver Cascades (our second waterfall of the trip) and the top of Victoria Falls if we’re keen. Given how short the hike is, the bulk of the trip will be spent at the falls where we’ll swim and have lunch. Then we’ll hike the 2km back up to the carpark and return to camp. Do note that the hike is entirely downhill on the way in and entirely uphill on the way out with about 400m of elevation. Check out the track notes here.

Also – Hammy is our wonderful chef for the Saturday evening meal so we’ll be aiming to be back at camp fairly early to start cooking. We may ask you all to help us out with the prep so be prepared for that if you join this trip 🙂

What to bring:

• Sturdy shoes
• Swimmers
• Small-medium sized backpack to hold your belongings
• At least 2L of water **super important to have enough water!!**
• Lunch and snacks for the day
• Sun protection: sunscreen + hat
• Any personal medication you may need
