[FULL] SATURDAY BL – THOMSPONS’S POINT Sport Climbing

You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. If you get rejected then you can sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly.

Hey folks, Emily and I will be leading a beginner friendly sport climbing trip on the Saturday of Boree Log. We’ll be heading to Thompson’s Point; a popular crag in Nowra. It’s a great place for all skill and experience levels as there are a huge variety of grades and styles. We will be setting up top ropes for most the climbs so no experience is required, only enthusiasm to touch rocks! This will be an all day adventure, so that means we will depart early in the morning, and will return back to the campsite in the evening.

1. Your experience level with climbing and the outdoors
2. Whether you have a car since we will be coordinating transport to and from the campsite at Boree Log on Saturday and if so, how many spots you have
3. How many toddlers you think you could fight to the death in a Grecian-style arena
4. If you’ve done an early vote or postal vote for the Referendum (only applicable to Australian Citizens)

We’ll meet near the trailer at the campground🏕️ on Saturday morning to collect gear and do a roll call.

Most gear is provided including a harness, helmet, safety sling, locking carabiners, belay device but you’ll need to bring:

• Sunscreen
• 2L water (stay hydrated!)
• Food, snacks to share 😋
• Comfy clothes and shoes
• Warm jacket 🧥
• Medication if required 💊
• Climbing shoes, chalk bag 🧗
