The day will take 5-8 hours and will be cold and wet. We will walk in for 1 hour in hiking clothes, change into wetsuits at the start of the canyon for several hours, and then walk back for 90 minutes. Bring appropriate clothes to walk across rough terrain.
- Canyoning gear not provided:
- Emergency blanket (You must carry one on every club canyoning trip. You must buy one from the gear cupboard for $5 cash or most outdoor stores)
- Backpack that can fit ALL your gear in and that can get wet
- Headtorch
- Clothing:
- Enclosed shoes with good grip
- Wool / neoprene socks
- Boardshorts to wear on top of wetsuit (compulsory to protect the club wetsuits)
- Thermals
- Gloves (gardening or thin gloves for splinters)
- NO COTTON!ย (this includes socks, shirts, pants, etc)
- Food:
- 2L of water.
- Lunch
- Snacks (chocolate or something nice to share!)
- Miscellaneous:
- Any personal medicine (asthma puffer, Epipen etc)
- Phone or camera for photos (optional, and only if youโre prepared for it to get wet if your drybag leaks!)
- Canyoning gear provided at Boree Log event (If you have personal gear it is helpful to bring this along):

You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly
