Hey guys!
Bennett and I are leading a trip to Gooch’s Crater – a natural, crater-like amphitheatre. This will be a great day of hiking, scrambling up rock pagodas, and exploring the cliffs around this feature. This is a 13km round trip (maybe a bit more depending on how much we explore) and will take around 5-6 hours to complete, so it’s perfect for both beginner and expert bushwalkers alike!
Gear list:
- Sturdy, comfortable shoes or hiking boots
- Backpack to hold your stuff
- Appropriate hiking clothes
- Hat
- Rain jacket
- Warm clothes
- Lunch and snacks
- 2 L of water – need to have this ready to go at the campground for when we leave Saturday morning (remember there is no drinking water at the campground)

- Headtorch
- Any personal medication you might normally carry with you
Please leave a comment in the sign ups if you have a car or need a lift, and your general level of fitness. Also write what your favourite hiking snack is.
Feel free to contact me (Matt Notarangelo – https://www.facebook.com/matthew.notarangelo.3/) if you have any questions.
Note: You need to be approved for the main Boree Log event to attend these trips. Please sign up for only ONE trip per day. If you get rejected you can then sign up for another trip, this just makes it easier for volunteer trip leaders. Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly
