Aah, Claustral. The gem of Blueys canyons.
3 incredible waterfall abseils into one of the deepest, darkest, longest, greenest slots in the Blue Mountains.
Join us on the Saturday of Boree Log trip exploring this amazing environment, with a side-trip up Thunder Gorge, a caving-like scramble to a glow worm cave! We’ll start early on Saturday morning, aiming to leave the campsite by 0800.
You MUST have had previous abseiling experience, be physically fit and prepared for a long day – up to 11hrs. The hike out is steep and fairly long. You must also be approved for Boree Log to attend.
If you’re interested, or you have any questions, please message Ash Brennan or Sid Tinney on facebook with relevant abseiling/outdoor experience.
GEAR: (* = can borrow from UNSWOC)
Please note that this is a long day, with very few bailout options. Double, triple check you have all of the non-asterisk’d items on this list BEFORE leaving Sydney. Items borrowed from the club will be organised on Saturday morning.
