SAT-Hole in the wall (intermediate)

Hey Boreeloggers!! Saturday trip!!!

Manon, Bayu and Chris will be leading a trip into the heart of the Newnes Plateau to the spectacular Hole in the Wall canyon: a looooong glow-worm cave and an exit through (you guessed it) a hole in the wall are some cool features to look forward to.

We have two cars and some spots in each! – we will drive up friday night BUT since the canyon is before the campground Bayus car will sleep at DTs on friday night and Manon car will most likely sleep at her parents house – both houses are on the blue mountains 🙂 – this means we will need everyone to tell us what gear they need! very important!!

This will be a full day of hiking, scrambling, wading, swimming, abseiling and admiring, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is required. Rope skills are preferred, as is previous canyoning experience – when you sign up, make sure you comment (or ideally, stalk one of us on facey and send me a message as well) your experience canyoning or doing other outdoor activities !

Equally as important, make sure you comment on how you can raise the morale of the group and make this trip fully sick: promises of copious amounts of sweet dairy-based confectionary and mind-bending riddles are preferred.

What you need:

• harness**
• helmet**
• safety sling + biner**
• atc + biner**
• wetsuits** – great if you have your own – the club might be a bit stretched
• backpack that can get wet
• headtorch
• drybag
• runners that may get wet and muddy
• thermals
• WOOLEN SOCKS!
• OLDSHORTS TO PROTECT WETSUIT
• at least 1.5L of water
• Lunch
• Snackadactyls
• Adventure spirit and heaps of good mood!**

– If you have your own spaceblanket, waterproof camera or first aid kit feel free to bring it!
