When Wilderness First Aid Australia (Wilderness First Aid Aust. an RTO)  will be teaching the course 8am  Friday 15th – 4pm Sunday 17th December 2023 for UNSWOC members. A night scenario will take place during the course.It will be an intense 3 days but rewarding and equip you with a nationally recognized qualification for your back country adventures.

Where: Outdoor Education Facility in Mt Victoria “The Grange” 38 Selsdon St, Mount Victoria NSW 2786  (2hrs West of Sydney)

What kind of accommodation?: Private house/dormitory style shared kitchen, classroom facilities and toilets.

What to bring: Outdoors clothes, a set of clothes to get dirty (i.e fake blood), camping equipment all meals and food to be self catered.

Transport: Train from Central to Mt Victoria Station. Carpool via Private Vehicle (Participants to organise)

Cost:

Trip leaders are a valuable and essential part of UNSWOC, they will be rewarded with subsidized training. If you would like to be a trip leader (As you can see, there are some awesome opportunities available) please leave a comment below.

Active trip leaders total cost:~ $600 AUD -> down to $100 after trip leading. Deposit $250 AUD (Payable before Course)  Subsidy for trip leaders: Up to $500 @ $75-100 per trip lead (Calculated at the end of each term, as ratified by UNSWOC Exec)

Non-Active Trip Leaders: Cost: $600 AUD (Full fee payable prior to course)

Non-UNSWOC Member: $600 AUD (Full fee payable prior to course)

Funding thankyou UNSWOC will fund the training for active trip leaders as a thank you for their hard work

Pre-existing requirement   Prework is essential (there will be an online handbook sent out). There are not prior first aid qualifications needed to start or sign up for this course.

Qualifications Upon completion you will have from the RTO certificate for a National QualificationHLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site

Sign ups: 12-16 places available (wait list included) so signups are essential. Please comment below. Priority will be given to TLIT and Trip leaders without RAFA or expiring. Those who previously missed out on a course will be given priority.
