[UNSWOC + Wandersoc] Porters Pass Hike

Hellooooo!

Wandersoc and UNSWOC are collaborating to bring you a leading a beginner-friendly hike through the Porters Pass and Colliers Causeway track in Blackheath.

It is possibly my favourite day hike in the Blue Mountains, featuring waterfalls, a micro-canyon, an optional swim (maybe not in this weather), rainforests, dry heath, clifftop, and cliffside paths!!!

It has a total length of about 8km and elevation gain of 400m, and I expect it to take about 5 hours.

This trail will require good fitness as there are some very steep sections, however we will not be in a rush.

What to bring:

• Sturdy shoes!
  • This is not your average tourist track and there are a few less maintained sections so hiking boots would be great.
• Small-medium sized backpack to hold your belongings
• At least 2L of water **super important to have enough water!!**
• Lunch and snacks for the day
• A hat
• Any personal medication you may need
• WARM CLOTHES BECAUSE THE FORECAST IS FEELS LIKE 4ºC

When and Where:

• Saturday 7th June (end of week 1)
• Meet at 11:30am Blackheath
  • Most of us will be taking the 09:24 train from Central Station
  • You’re welcome to make your own way there, however we will not be able to wait for any latecomers 🙁
