Hey there friends

Keen for a night of feasting and boozing but don’t want it to be unearned?
Come join Nicola, Mac and Me for an adventure down the amazing Pipeline Canyon!
This full day adventure will include abseiling, wading and swimming and general awesomeness so a reasonable fitness level is needed and being able to swim is a MUST.
Beginners are welcome on this trip but only if you bring us some snacks 😉

Note that this is trip #2 because we will be leaving slightly later than the first group

Pipeline is probably the most accessible canyon in the Wolgan Valley. There is a 2-3km walk from the campsite to the top of the pipeline track. We will then traverse across to the canyon and make our way down a number of shutes, climbs and abseils. Once we exit the canyon, we retrace our steps back along the bottom of the pipeline track and return to camp. See the map below. Please bring:

  • Wetsuit (very much recommended for the swims. If you really can’t find one, a back up is to wear thermals, and bring a waterproof/windproof jacket to help keep out the chill once you’re wet)
  • Thermals + dry bag (DRY SET in a dry bag – this is back-up in case we get benighted and need to dry off to warm up) No cotton
  • Waterproof/windproof jacket recommended
  • Woolen socks (no cotton, please)
  • Lunch and other snacks
  • Water (at least 1L, but 2L is preferable)
  • Closed toe shoes such a joggers (runners) or volleys. If you wear thongs or sandals, we are leaving you at camp.
  • A suitable backpack to carry everything (expect everything in your back-pack to get wet – thus why you need the dry bags)
  • Headtorch (can be bought for like $11 from Anaconda) – in case we need to walk out in the dark

Gear club should have (but bring if you have it): helmet, harness, safety sling, locking carabinerX2, ATC (or other abseil device), prussiks

Please write in the comments section:

  1. Canyoning experience thus far
  2. Medical issues or anything else we should know about
