Come along for an overnight hike with Jenny and myself. This hike has a little bit of everything, cool trees, bush bashing, caves and a beautiful sunset/sunrise lookout. The wild dog mountains have a great wilderness feel and are one of my favorite weekend spots.
Leaving from Dunphys campground and heading south towards Kanangra. We will be camping in a spot that is walk in only so here is a chance to test how heavy your gear is! Happy to take Keen beginners and intermediates!
We will be leaving Dunphy at 9:30 on Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening.
You will need to carry:
– One night/two days of food
– Tent
– Sleeping bag and sleeping mat
– Seriously warm jacket, thermals, woolen socks, beanie and gloves
– Stove, gas, pot and utensil
– Water purification tabs or filter
– Toilet paper
And this all needs to be packed in one comfy bag!
You will also need good runners or boots and comfy walking clothes.
As its just after solstice it will be seriously cold. Like seriously. It will be compulsory to have thermals and warm jacket.
We will also have to confirm the weather closer to the day.
Please put in the comments:
– If you have a car you can drive/how many people.
– If your happy walking 15 km with a pack
– And what your favorite trail snack is!
Any questions please send me a message (Mira Bug on fb) or catch me at the AGM next Wednesday!
See you there!
Last trip to Wild Dog mountains, I promise the horizon is actually straight in real life.
